What is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are designed to provide both workers and emergency personnel with the proper procedures for handling or working with a particular substance. A MSDS includes information such a physical property data, fire and explosion hazard data, health effects, first aid, reactivity, protective equipment, transportation and storage, and spill/leak and disposal procedures.

The MSDS sheets provided by Spectro Inc. are for metallo-organic oil standards used to re-calibrate the various models of the Spectroil M family of oil and fuel analysis spectrometers.

  • CS-75 - 75cST Base Oil
  • CS-21 - Solvent neutral oil that contains the following trace metals: silver, aluminum, boron, barium, calcium, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, sodium, nickel, phosphorus, lead, silicon, tin, titanium, vanadium and zinc at concentrations from 3 through 900 µg/gr.
  • CS-21 K - Solvent neutral oil that contains the following trace metals: silver, aluminum, boron, barium, calcium, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, sodium, nickel, phosphorus, potassium, lead, silicon, tin, titanium, vanadium and zinc at concentrations from 3 through 900 µg/gr.
  • SMA - Solvent neutral oil that contains the following additive trace metals: barium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc at concentrations from 100 µg/gr through 6,000 µg/gr.
  • CS-GT-15 - Solvent neutral oil that contains the following trace metals: magnesium at 30 µg/gr through 1,500 µg/gr, aluminum, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, potassium, sodium, nickel, lead, lithium, manganese, silicon, vanadium, and zinc at concentrations from 10 through 500 µg/gr.
  • CS-GT-3 - Solvent neutral oil that contains the following trace metals: lithium, potassium and sodium at 1.0 µg/gr.
  • Sulfur in #2 Diesel Fuel - Diesel fuel that contains sulfur concentrations from 0 through 6.0%.
